Help us campaign for a First Nations Voice to Parliament
Our Central Council has resolved to support the campaign for a First Nations Voice to Parliament.
We are seeking expressions of interest from Mining and Energy Union Members about being involved in training and campaign activities to ensure the success of the referendum.
After winning the May election, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese committed to implementing the Uluru Statement of the Heart including holding a referendum on enshrining a ‘Voice to Parliament’ in the Constitution, to give Indigenous Australians a say in matters affecting them.
We encourage Members who wish to be involved in this important campaign to email their details including name, workplace or Lodge and length of membership to the National Office.
